BOOSTane Racing Fuel Specs

What Octane Is Racing Fuel?

Race Fuel comes in various octane values.  Our BOOSTane Octane Boosters allow you to dial in an exact octane from 93 to 109 (affordably), while we curated a small line of Race Fuels that achieve even more than that with our 110L, 116L, E85 (~100 octane), UTV96, and 109UL.

What Sets BOOSTane Apart From Other Racing Fuels?

The Engineers at BOOSTane have taken their knowledge and know-how of racing and performance engine requirements to focus in on a niche line of race fuels that perfectly augment their current fuel solutions.  BOOSTane did not reinvent the wheel, they simply refined it with the expertise they have developed over their careers as engineers and racers.  Committing to utilizing the highest quality raw materials in their formulations and refusing to take any shortcuts.  Resulting in a stability and accuracy unrivaled in the market.

Racing Fuel vs Regular Gasoline vs Regular Gasoline + BOOSTane?

BOOSTane has always believed that there is a perfect fuel for everyone’s car.  Our focus is to develop those fuels and then help our customers find them.

Regular Gasoline

Most vehicles are designed to run fine on regular, pump fuel from the gas station.  And for most daily drivers out there that cruise around, never pushing their vehicle, this is fine.  No need to go after higher octane if you aren’t looking for performance or to protect your engine.

Regular Gasoline + BOOSTane

This is where we have built our reputation around the world.  There is a lot of you out there (like many of us here at BOOSTane) that have a “grocery getter” that also puts serious power to the ground.  And on occasion, maybe the weekend or maybe every day that ends in “Y”, you like to unleash the full potential of your vehicle. That is where our line of fuel additives come in.  They are designed for those folks that need more than pump gas, but aren’t necessarily needing full blown race fuel.  Designed to raise your octane from what’s at the pump to as high 116, but efficiently/affordably achieving octane levels 108 and below.  All from the convenience of a bottle in your trunk or your saddle bag.

Race Fuel

This is for those of you that need to go over that 108 octane, or have a specific demand for fuel that not even BOOSTane Professional Octane Booster can offer.  Whether it be E85 Race, our Leaded Race Fuel options, or our UTV specific, we set out to develop those Race Fuel solutions for you.  Engineered specifically for racing and off-road applications.

What’s the Difference Between Ethanol, Leaded and Unleaded Race Gas?

Ethanol is a fuel typically refined from corn.  It is an alcohol that is found in almost all of our pump fuels in percentages from 10% to 85%.  It has wonderful characteristics such as latent heat of evaporation for a chemical intercooling effect of charge temperatures, which offer great performance tuning.  However, as a fuel it is very “dry”.  Its hygroscopic nature means it has an affinity to absorb water into the fuel, if left for a long time.  E85 from your local gas station can also be anything from E55 (55%) or E90 (90%), thus making it quite difficult to tune for if you don’t have a flex fuel sensor adjusting.  All of these reasons are why we developed our E85 Race.  Utilizing the highest quality hydrocarbons for the 15% fuel that accompanies our regulated 85% ethanol.

The difference between our Leaded 110 and 116, and our unleaded 109, is the presence of Lead.  Lead is a very good octane enhancing ingredient, with incredible benefits such as upper end cylinder lubrication and stability.  However, Lead can be detrimental to certain engines with O2 sensors and catalytic converters, therefore our unleaded 109, offers that solution of a high octane race fuel that is safe for vehicles with Catalytic Converters and O2 Sensors.

How to choose the right racing fuel for your vehicle

The right race fuel for your vehicle is depending on what octane your engine is built or tuned for.  Our calculator app (Include Link) will help you determine what your compression ratio is, and the recommended octane for that compression ratio. If you have a newer vehicle (w/ Cats and O2 sensors) avoid our leaded 110 or 116.  Consider BOOSTane Professional, Premium, or SHOT, for octane levels below 103.  Otherwise our 109 Unleaded can be a solution. If you don’t have Cats or O2 sensors, our Leaded 110 or 116 can be a solution if your engine demands higher octane.
